Audit & Assurance
An audit is worth having only if it tells you something you did not already know. We study the systems that produce the numbers before we study the numbers, so the report you receive names the weakness as well as the figure.
We begin with the existing systems, procedures and controls, and set out in plain terms where they are strong and where they leak. Compliance with your own policies is tested alongside compliance with statute.
Books are reviewed for conformity with GAAP, the Accounting Standards and, where applicable, IFRS. Expenses are tested for genuineness, operational inefficiencies are reported at the level at which they occur, and income leakage is identified and closed.
The engagement closes with certification that the books agree with the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Account, and with the issue of audit reports under each applicable law.
